May Balls are a Cambridge tradition to celebrate the end of exams. Robinson College is the first May Ball of May Week, known for relying on hand-crafted decorations and designs to reflect the fact that the ball is organised entirely by students.
The theme for Robinson's 2017 ball, 'The Night Circus' dictated the black, white and red colour scheme and noir circus aesthetic that transformed the college with towering grandfather clocks, hanging clockfaces and hand-crafted signs to emulate the surreal aspects of the theme.
