The School of Hydrology is a design proposal for a dual program apprenticeship school and hostel situated on a mound between two of Walthamstow Reservoirs largest bodies of water. A canal connects the two reservoirs on either side of the site before cutting through the mound and separating the school and hostel.
The angular form of the canal and sunken nature of the structure into the mound reflects the artificial nature of the surrounding site as well as the adjacent Victorian mill building that Haringey Council is renovating into a viewing platform, with views across the reservoirs and through the trees between them being a key aspect of the design.
